Automated Medication Dispensing System - Troubleshooting

Problem 1: In case, the user encounters the problem similar to shown in the screenshot (Image A) Solution: it means user has already application instance open. Continue with the already open instance or close the existing one to open a new instance.

Problem 2: In case, user is not able to close the application by clicking on X button at the top right corner.

Solution

Application can only be closed by clicking on Logout button at the bottom right corner of the application.

Problem 3: If user encounters the following problem anywhere and unable to close the application (Image B)

Solution

  1. Close the pop up
  2. Try to perform the task again
  3. In case you are not still able to perform the task, click on LOGOUT button
  4. In case you are not able to logout, go to TASK MANAGER
  5. Click on the “processes’ tab
  6. Search for the EXCEL.EXE process and end the process.
  7. Launch the application again.
  8. In case the problem is encountered again, please contact admin

Problem 4: If user encounters the following problem anywhere (Image C)

Solution

  1. Close the pop up
  2. Try to perform the task again
  3. In case you are not still able to perform the task, click on LOGOUT button
  4. In case you are not able to logout, go to TASK MANAGER
  5. Click on the “processes’ tab
  6. Search for the EXCEL.EXE process and end the process.
  7. Launch the application again.
  8. In case the problem is encountered again, please contact admin

Problem 5: If User encounters the following problem while opening the application (Image D)

Solution

  1. Open a blank Excel
  2. Goto File tab
  3. Select OPTIONS at the left hand side
  4. Click on ADVANCED at the left hand side
  5. Scroll the screen down until the GENERAL section
  6. Uncheck the box ‘Ignore other applications that use Dynamic data Exchange (DDE)
  7. Click OK.
  8. Again launch the application.

Problem 6: If user encounters issues in opening other excel files

Solution

  1. All the excel files must be closed before application launch. Once the application is launched, any excel file can be open

Problem 7: In case, user is getting the following error message

  1. User needs to follow Step 10-11 from ‘Installation process’.

Problem 8: If user gets the following error upon launching the application

    1. Click OK and user will be shown SETTINGS screen (Image 1). Browse the database file (Medical_database.accdb) available in the AMDS installation folder which is placed at the path provided while installation (screen IP5)
